The String Benders perform at the last Fat Tuesday dinner before Covid struck in March of 2020.

The String Benders perform for the 2020 Fat Tuesday / Mardi Gras community dinner at Thurber Hall.

Five years after Covid derailed public gatherings, including our traditional annual Fat Tuesday dinner, the Patagonia Community United Methodist Church invites all to help restart this tradition with a community potluck to be held at Thurber Hall (387 McKeown Ave) starting at 5:30 pm on Tuesday, March 4th. The String Benders will be back! All are welcome to join us and bring a favorite dish to share. If you want to try making a traditional New Orleans Mardi Gras dish, we have compiled a list linking to some well-reviewed recipes for the occasion.
